The Better Business Bureau® Serving Western Michigan Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. As the nonprofit arm of the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan, the Educational Foundation works to support local businesses and nonprofits in our 38 county service area through research and education. Below are some of the offerings the foundation has available for the community. These presentations are made available free of charge, but tax-deductible donations to the foundation are appreciated to help offset the program costs.

Interactive game for schools and students teaching about how to spot and avoid common scams.
Fighting Financial Fraud is a series of presentations presented by the Better Business Bureau in partnership with FINRA. These presentations are perfect for senior and community groups.
 


5 Gestures of Trust
5 Gestures of Trust examines the five qualities that combine to determine Trust. Learn how your organization can help earn and build trust with customers and employees. This presentation is perfect for business and nonprofit groups.



Nonprofit Best Practices
The Better Business Bureau works to help nonprofits meet the BBB Wise Giving Alliance’s 20  Standards of Charity Accreditation. Nonprofit Best Practices examines those 20 standards, and how nonprofits can build trust by improving transparency with the community and donors.
The Better Business Bureau is best known for helping identify and support trustworthy businesses, and helping consumers resolve complaints. However, the BBB does so much more than that. We also have programs to help you find the business you need, combat deceptive advertising and more. I Didn’t Know You Did That examines all the programs the BBB has to offer (most of them are free) and how the Better Business Bureau can help you and local organizations.
Businesses of all sizes are confronted with fraud on a regular basis. In this presentation the BBB® will outline the most common scams targeting local businesses, and the steps businesses can take to prevent losing money to these cons..

The Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan offers a FREE charity review program for local 501(c)3 nonprofits. The 20 Standards of Charity Accountability correspond to nonprofit best practices for transparency and trust. Organizations that meet all 20 standards in the free review are recognized as Accredited Charities at bbb.org and on give.org.
